Mirkwood was a great forest in Middle-earth in the eastern region of Rhovanion between the Grey Mountains (Ered Mithrin) and Gondor. The halls of the Elvenking are located here and as of now, the majority of the Elven population of Mirkwood due to unrest in the South.

Overrun by spiders, orcs and the spawn of Ungoliant as well as other foul creatures, this region is now uninhabited due to the dark influence Sauron's fortress of Dol Guldur has on the forest.

Lake-town, also known as Esgaroth, was a small settlement and community of Men. The town is constructed entirely of wood and stands upon wooden pillars sunk into the bed of the Long Lake. The town's prosperity was built on trade between the Men, Elves and Dwarves of northern Middle-earth.

Dale is a city state of Men to the south of the Lonely Mountain. Once the dwarves restored Erebor, men began to settle once more in Dale, with Bard, the man who slew the dragon, now their first king.

The Lonely Mountain, or Erebor, was a mountain and the source of the River Running. It is inhabited by the Dwarves of Durin's Folk once more after being recently restored. It is one of the richest and most prosperous kingdoms once more and trades with the Elves and Men of Rhovanion.

The Iron Hills are a range of mountains in Middle-earth and a realm of the Dwarves of Durin's Folk under Dáin II Ironfoot. They are akin to the dwarves of Erebor. The Iron Hills are rich in many minerals and got their name from the iron that is commonly found in the area.

Lothlórien was a forest located in Middle-earth, next to the lower Misty Mountains and ruled by Celeborn and Galadriel. The power of Nenya has enriched the land and made it a magic forest into which evil cannot enter without difficulty. Its capital is Caras Galadhon.
